Winter Living

Now that the Christmas magic and chaos has passed, we’ve entered those deep winter months that can feel long, cold and a little bleak. As we settle back into our routines and look ahead to a year full of new possibilities, it’s no secret that many people find this stretch of winter particularly tough.

As interior designers, we know that most of us will be spending more time indoors and for anyone bracing themselves for the rest of a British winter, home doesn’t need to feel dull or grey. In this post, we’re sharing a few simple, comforting ideas you can use to lift your space and make the next couple of months feel a little brighter.

Making the most of Winter with Luxury interiors

Our go-to cure for a bit of winter gloom? Making your home feel warm, cosy and full of life. It all starts with a few key ingredients: thoughtful colours, textures and little accessories that really make a space sing. Colour, in particular, is a total mood booster… especially when the days are short and grey. Pick shades that lift your spirits and bring energy to the room. For this look, we added lively green accents, fresh flowers and clever lighting to tie everything together. The result? A cheerful, inviting home that makes even the coldest winter day feel a little brighter.

Bold warm tones

Over in the living room, don’t be afraid to go bold with warm tones or a pop of colour it instantly makes the space feel inviting. If you prefer something a bit more subtle, layering in candles that echo your artwork is an easy way to add warmth and atmosphere. We love using Neom candles for this… they come in a beautiful range of scents and colours, so there’s something to suit every space and mood.

Make your home feel extra cosy this winter by layering soft furnishings you can really snuggle into… think cushions, throws and luxe bed linens. We love drawing inspiration from the beautiful collections at Andrew Martin and Robert Langford (and yes, they’re both running a sale at the moment!). For the bedroom, investing in quality bed linen from Yves Delorme is a simple way to make those chilly nights feel a whole lot more inviting.

Undoubtedly, the home cinema room offers the ultimate winter living experience. Outfitted with plush Jacaranda carpets, and textured wall covering from Tektura, we opted for an earthy and fiery orange theme for fabrics. Overall, the cinema room offers full comfort while maintaining a low profile.

When friends and family gather around the dining table, warm tones and soft, mood lighting make all the difference (we love the distinctive pieces from Porta Romana!). For this space, we went for bespoke furniture, pairing it with plush, soft-furnished dining chairs that are as comfortable as they are elegant. And of course, candles make another starring appearance honestly, as luxury interior designers, we can’t help but pick up more than we probably need!
